Curriculum
  • Introduction and application to sense memory, (emotional recall) literary regression, animate and inanimate objects.
  • Emotional analysis and technique on how to bring out real emotion from your inner core using imagination and substitution.
  • Character breakdown technique – Building your character from the inside out. Understanding subtext, how to apply it, and then implementing what you have learned in moment to moment acting.
  • Script analysis – Understanding how to break down a script once you get it.
  • Audition technique – You will learn how to audition using the room, the character you are playing and yourself to stand out from the crowd and get the callback and ultimately the job.
  • Cold reading technique & camera terms – you will learn how to cold read on camera for film/tv.
  • Comedy improvisation skills – you will learn the basics of comedy improv – to help you in your quest to listen.
  • Marketing skills – you will learn how to market your most treasured possession – yourself.
Day One

  • Script and character breakdown
  • Receive scene material with instructions (film/play scenes, 3 minutes in length)
  • Lunch – 12:00–1:00pm
  • Review scenes (1:15pm–4:00pm)

    • Blocking, activities,
    • Using the room
  • Cold reading tech (4:00pm–5:00pm)

End of Day One

Day Two
  • Review of Day One (9:00am–10:00am)
    • Hand outs for: film/tv related, internet links
  • Scene performances (10:15am–1:00pm)
    • All scenes taped (limit 3 minute scenes)
  • Lunch (1:00pm–2:00pm)
  • Scene critiques (2:15pm–6:00pm)
    • Receive notes, perform scene again –live
